Hello VFW AUX. members,
I hope that all are staying inside and keeping safe from this pandemic that is spreading like wild fire. I’ve been receiving many phone calls and email about Nominations, Elections and just worrying about being able to hold a meeting. As of now everyone should be quarantined. By now you should have seen the general order from National President Peggy Haake in regards to the pandemic and Elections. There are ways to get this done. Skype for video conferencesand many more that offer free service, the other is teleconference for those who don’t do computers. Our State Secretary Marilyn has given you these contacts in a previous email/posting. As for Official Visits/Meetings and Convention, these are still up in the air due to the pandemic. As time gets closer, information will be going out.
Now let’s have a Buddy system. We need to worry about ourselves and others. If you are a district President, please contact you auxiliary Presidents to see how they are doing. Most have already been doing this. As an Auxiliary President, call your officers and members and, if you’re a big auxiliary, split the contact info with your Senior and Junior vice. Call your Veterans and check on them. This is a stressful time and, dealing with PTSD while they also worry about the Pandemic, this will just be a very hard time for them. Make a Buddy System and call each other and others. We are the Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary and we are going to War with this Virus. We are Strong, Intelligent and fighting Compassionately for our Veterans & their families from home and afar. May we Bless the Lord for what we have and everyday we wake. This too shall pass, Trust in the Lord and God Bless America
The National Secretary / Treasurer provided meeting options at this link.
The National President has also issued an Executive Order that all Officers will remain in office until new officers can be elected.
If you have any questions of concerns, please feel free to contact the Department Office at 714-809-2874 or email@example.com .
As an aid, a list of possible free teleconference servicesis provided. (Note: Freeconferencecall has been used by District 12 among others, is straightforward, and allows up to 100 Attendees)

Patriotism consists not in waving the flag, but in striving that our country shall be righteous as well as strong.
Ask not what your country can do for you, ask you can do for your country.
