Are you ready to step into the Department Line?

The membership of the Department of California are looking for Members in Good Standing to come forward as Candidates for the Offices of Department Treasurer and Department Guard.  Department Council and Delegates will be looking to elect a candidate for these positions at our Department Convention in June.

What does "running for this office mean”?  Will it cost me anything to be in the line?  Do I have to know all the bylaws?  Must I have served as an Auxiliary President or District President or Chairman before I can run for a Department Office?   Call on our Line Officers or Past Department Presidents to gain insight on expectations of a Line Officer, Obligations, Expenses and Experiences that are involved.

Start getting your Auxiliary and District endorsements now.  We have our January Council meeting coming up and this is a wonderful opportunity to come and meet the members and perhaps spend a few minutes addressing everyone at the Council Meeting of you intention in running for Department Treasurer and Department Guard.  Members need to know you.  They need to know you are a candidate of your word.  They need to trust you and know that you are loyal for the good of the good of the organization.

Those candidates interested in this office, should make every effort to visit the Districts so the membership can meet you, hear what you have to say, so they may make a sound decision come June.

Endorsement Letters must be in the Department Office by May 20th.

Welcome to the California Auxiliary to the Veterans of Foreign Wars of the United States. We are an organization consisting of fathers, mothers, sisters, brothers, sons, daughters, grandfathers, grandmothers, grandsons and granddaughters of those persons, both male and female, who have honorably served in the Armed forces of the United States. We believe in Americanism, which has been defined as an unfailing love of country; loyalty to its institutions and ideals, eagerness to defend it against all enemies, undivided allegiance to the flag, and a desire to secure the blessings of liberty to ourselves and posterity.

We serve and support the veterans, active duty soldiers and their families of the United States for they are the ones that put their lives on the line to allow us the daily freedoms we enjoy.
