Description
Sent support letters for HR. 6656 to 3 legislators (Duarte Butler Padilla). This bill would reduce wait times for veterans making phone calls the the VA. The bill would require the VA's telephone call line to include an automated response system that would do two things: 1) advise the caller of the anticipated wait time and 2) offer the caller the ability to receive a callback if the wait time is excessive. With over 1 million disability compensation and pension call the Veterans Benefits Administration (VBA) has estimated that one claim generates eight separate contacts to the call centers. This means that VA could expect 8 million calls this year.
