| On August 26 2023 at the District 3 meeting held at VFW Post 1534 Desert Hot Springs Yvonne De La Hoya - District 3 Hospital chair spoke and provided folders with information for all the Auxiliaries in District 3. Yvonne reported that the next Loma Linda VA Hospital visit would be on December 8th. All Auxiliaries were asked to provide gift bags (at least 10) for the residents. Bags can include t-shirts combs tooth brushes back scratchers playing cards puzzles pens and writing pads and snacks (assorted chips). Per Volunteer Services No Socks are needed (received a huge donation). Also need Christmas cards and include Wal-Mart gift cards valued at least $10.oo. The Annual Christmas tree would be in the lobby with requests from a Veteran for a Christmas gift (valued no more than $100).
Also Indio and Desert Hot Springs will be hosting its annual Christmas luncheon for the Marines stationed at 29 Palms. Donations for this event would be appreciated and sent to the Indio Auxiliary.
Informed Auxiliaries that there would be an event at Loma Linda VA Hospital on February 16 2024 in celebration of Valentines. Still in the planning stage.
The folder included information from CDCE Chief regarding the PACT Act and the need for those who may be eligible to VA benefits to apply by August 9 2023; anyone exposed to toxic exposures in Vietnam (Agent Orange) Gulf War post 9/11 ears and the the burn pits.

Hospital Chairman.; the Application for Medical Assistance Grant; the Hospital Program Report from Council of Administration dated June 11 2023; the Become a Vounteer flyer from Loma Linda VA Hospital and Orientation dates; and the Loma Linda VA Healthcare System Donation form. |
