The Auxiliary voted to purchase books in support of the Patriotism through Literacy program. We selected titles from the list provided and added one additional title which is relevant to our District. - the Port Chicago 50 - the story of racial segregation in the US Navy and the event that was instrumental in driving future integration in the military forces. The hardback and library bound books are being donated to our 2 local libraries - Concord and Clayton. The paperbacks are being distributed to ""Little Free Libraries ” in our communities. |
