| Our Auxiliary heard about HMS students trip to Washington DC and how they needed volunteers to take part in a fundraiser for the students. The Auxiliary president stepped up to run the grill with a volunteer crew! The treasurer stepped up to make macaroni salad for 100 family meals! Another offered transportation for the beans and rolls that were all made at separate kitchens around Hilmar and Turlock. Another member coordinated each cook so that it would all coordinate to appropriate times and setting work schedules for the students and parents. Antoehr showed up to help the day of with the drive thru! It was truly a team effort!! The students sold tickets and the auxiliary did the shopping preparing and lead the kids in packaging the food for meals. Our Auxiliary has a lot of experience in the food and catering industry so we were able to help lead these kids to a great success. The Auxiliary voted in February to allow our 5 willing members to participate in this outreach into the Hilmar community. If it were not for these Auxiliary ladies stepping up to offer their expertise the students wouldn't have been able to host this fundraiser without all the knowledge that the auxiliary members poured into the students and parents. I could not be more proud of our Auxiliary for everything they did for these kids! No auxiliary or members money was spent in any of this and it was a true act of passion for these members who wore their Auxiliary hat apron pin and shirts! |
