| Description |
| 2 members organize a lunch meeting every month on the Third Thursday of the month at a local Denny's. The lunch started as a chance for local WWII veterans to get together for cameraderie. The participants now include Korean Vietnam and other veterans. Each month there is a different guest speaker. Sometimes there is an outside speaker but most often one of the group members tells about their experiences in the military. They share photos and memories. Topics have included Bob Hope Concerts Submarine life Battle of the Bulge Pearl Harbor. Huey helicopters etc. In addition the members provide cake to celebrate those who have a birthday that month This meeting is a highlight of the month for local veterans. This report is for the first 7 months of our reporting year. Members spend about 5 hours per week organizing the event (7x5=35/2=17.5). the cost of cake is about $20 per month. |
