| The second Thursday of each month our Post hosts a food giveaway for local veterans and their families. My job is to register all those coming to receive the food baskets &/or check off the already registered attenders. On Thursday January 11 2024 I met a widow who had come for the first time to our giveaway. In registering her I asked if her husband was a VFW veteran or an American Legion veteran...long story short she left that day with an application my Secretary/Treasurer business card information on our upcoming Regular Meeting and a hug around the neck |
