A member attended the Pearl Harbor day Ceremony held at the confluence of the Sacramento and American rivers. This is an annual event put on by the Gold Coast Chapter of the Submariners. It is quite a nice event and includes a color guard an honor guard a bugler (TAPS) and a bagpiper (Amazing Grace) A chapter member reads off the name of each submarine that has been lost by any event since the first submarine was launched. Normally only Sacramento and Yolo county have Sheriff river patrol boats but this year 10 counties sent patrol boats to participate in the laying of a wreath at the moment Pearl Harbor was attacked. |
