| Description |
| Veterans Of War Post 1512 celebrated their 95th anniversary of supporting veterans on June 15 2023. It was held at the post located at 6873 Federal Blvd. Lemon Grove. It started at 2 pm and finished at 10 pm. We had over 100 veterans and their family members come and go throughout the day. We passed out leis with buddy poppies attached to all attending. We also had a Buddy Poppy display board explaining what our poppy donations do for our veterans. We had the poem Flander's Field up next to donation jar. The jar with donations went to the post for deposit. We had over 70 door prizes donated by businesses and individuals that were given away including a stand up piano generator various housewares keyless door locks board games food gifts cooking sets etc. We had a time of appreciation for all our veterans who have served our country and then time to thank the families and loved ones for supporting their loved ones who served. We had lots of food served including a very large pig lumpia potatoes rice salads and desserts. they were 6 members doing the serving. And one of our comrades carved the roasted pig.
We also had a band come in and play music for us for most the evening. It was a very successful time spent with our veterans being able to show our support for them all.
