| Each month our Post hosts a ""Veteran Giveaway Day"" which is the 2nd Thursday of each month. This Vet. Giveaway is for veterans and their families to come to the Post and receive a plethora of things: fresh produce non-perishable foods breads beverages (i.e. Gatorade or propel cold Brew...)hygiene also VA Representatives come to talk with them and help them with any questions regarding their benefits. During the giveaway process: setting up tables organizing types of foods together prepping the grocery bags prepacking the bags for giveaway. To make this happen auxiliary & comrades & volunteers work together for our veterans. On Wednesday August 13 after chatting (while working of course) with one of the Volunteers I realized that she was a perfect Auxiliary Candidate! I spoke with her about ""What we do"" and I then gave her an application. On Wed Sept. 13th...a month later. She gave me the filled out application for Life Membership! On Wednesday September 2oth Ofelia Ruiz with eligibility from her husband was voted into our Post 6311 Auxiliary. |
