| At our recent auxiliary meeting our Sr. Vice provide us with interesting article regarding - divers recover remains of WWII airman 80 years after he crashed in the Mediterranean. - underwate archeologist in Maltra worked with US government to identify the 22 year old from California. After performing dental and DNA analysis it was announce jis identity - Sergeant Irving R. Newman of Los Angeles. Newman and his crew were on a missiom to bomb Italy's Reggio de Calabria harbor En route to their target the B-24 Liberator's engine faltered forcing its pilots to fly off coirse amd into the line of enemy fire utimately plunging into the sea five crewmembers were injured and four managed to escape while Newman sand with the bomber.
