| On August 16 I delivered copies of forms and information about the Youth Activities Program to the Principal Ms. Leiani Osugi of the Valley Center Middle School for distribution to her teachers and school Librarian. In a phone conversation with her the next day I described the various papers and forms I had delivered and offered myself as the contact person for VFW Auxiliary 2075 Hawthorne as needed. I included multiple copies of the suggested reading list of books for Grades 6-8 under the ""Patriotism Through Literacy"" initiative the ""Get Excited for the Red White and Blue"" singing contest and the ""Illustrating America"" art contest. |
