| During another event that was held at our Post I learned that one of our Comrades USN John McGinnis' wife was very ill and that he was taking care of her. After talking with my President LuAnn Hood Post Commander Tom Berry and Auxiliary Chaplain Kathy Mendenhall it was decided that I would reach out to him and find out if there was anything that his Post & auxiliary could do for him. He seemed flabbergasted. I offered some meals be brought over to them......between LuAnn and myself we brought meals to them for a week (August 15-August 22) The meals were: Spaghetti garlic bread salad and cookies; chicken enchiladas and rice and chocolate dipped cookies; individual chicken tortilla and chicken noodle soups with sourdough bread and a slice of cake; Chicken Casserole with cheesy biscuits and finally Chicken fried steak mashed potatoes green beans salad and a roll. They were very happy. I plan to check in on them to see how they are doing. |
