Support letter for S.2026 the Maternal Health for Veterans Act which strengthen oversight of the VA maternity care coordination efforts while authorizing new funding to make sure VA has the resources it needs to provide women veterans with access to the maternal care they've earned through their service. S.2026 would require VA to produce and provide an annual report to the House and Senate Committees on Veterans' Affairs to include a summary of activities carried out relating to the coordination of maternity health care services. The legislation requires the VA to include data on maternal health outcomes of veterans who received medical care at a VA health facility or community care provider. Additionally it requires recommendations by the VA to improve the maternal health outcomes of veterans. |
