Description
A couple of weeks before this day we learned that one of our members had taken a bad fall and fractured her pelvis. She lives alone and has to have help. Her daughter and her dear friend were able to go stay with her to help her get around. Our Aux. Pres. LuAnn Hood set up a ""Meal Train"" for her for a couple of weeks while she heals that included her food allergies of no-dairy and gluten free and loves vegetables (her daughter and friend do not have food allergies). I signed up. On Monday July 31 2023 I prepped for her marinated red potatoes carrots and green beans and Country Ribs and Diary free Chocolate Gelato. Following the ""Meal Train"" instructions I went to the local secondhand store and picked up a tray 2 placemats a cloth napkin and 2 ceramic dishes to transport the meal in and to leave with her as a gift so that she doesn't have to try and remember who gave her what dish and try and return them all. When I delivered her meal I set it all up for on a tray table and visited with her for a little while. She shared some struggles she was having with her insurance and approval and it was a mess. Given she is a Medi-Care patient (as am I) I gave her some advice on who she could call and the name of a Secondary Care Coverage that she could look into that she wouldn't pay anything except her prescriptions at a way discounted rate. That information seemed to put her mind ease.
