| At this Memorial day Holiday celebration I wanted to do something special to enhance the attention of the Buddy Poppies. It started with my attending a luncheon of another organization and wanted to present the guests with a Buddy Poppy pin so I put 3 Buddy Poppies together with flower tape and glued a saftey pin on the back to be pinned on clothing easily. I added some red white and blue curly ribbon. I passed these poppy pins around to the guests attending the luncheon. At the luncheon we had a Vietnam Veteran as one of our guests. I explained the source and purpose of the Buddy Poppies to the guests. They were very happy to get the pins. On Memorial Day I gave some of the pins to our Auxiliary members and they were also happy to receive them. I so far have made 60 of these pins. . I am in hopes of making more and pass them around to bring attention to our Veterans.. |
